Subject: Crisis Averted Thanks to Lee Pollard
Today my office suddenly filled up with a strong and pervasive electrical burning smell. After quickly shutting off the circuit breaker and checking with my favorite fireman (my husband) that nothing was actually burning, we isolated the source of the smell to an area near my computers. I sent out a Mayday and Lee Pollard from Computer Therapy came to my rescue!
He arrived in no time flat and not only did he determine that the culprit was a back-up battery pack, he offered to take it for proper recycling. Lee also organized my mess of computer cables, made functional a foot pedal I use for transcription that has never worked and willingly took a printer and other electrical stuff of mine to donate.
I found Lee to be knowledgeable, professional, organized, and thoughtful.I don’t know if he’s looking for more business, but you simply could not be in better hands if you ever find yourself in computer-related trouble!
Also, I write this as a cautionary tale about battery back-up units. It turns out shutting off the circuit breakers has no impact on a rogue battery back-up unit since the unit relies on its own power source.in my case, one that was extremely hot to the touch and that could have done some serious damage left unattended. I am counting my blessings that nothing worse happened and that Lee was there to save the day!
