Subject: Northwood Ladies V Soccer wins over JM March 9
The varsity girls soccer team defeated JM tonight 11-1 in Pittsboro. Anna Elkins and Annie Cleaver had hat tricks, followed by Katie McGrath, Hannah Lawrence, April Gibbs, Maria Vanderford and Yancey Luft with one each. Annie recorded three assists, Emily Davis with two, Laura Shactman, April Gibbs, Hannah Lawrence and Maria Vanderford with one each. It was a well balanced effort by the entire team this evening as they run their record to 3-0. Next match is at home Monday vs Granville Central at 6:00.
The NHS JV began their season tonight with a 0-0 tie with Cedar Ridge. Tori Nothnagel was outstanding in the net with several key saves. The chargers took eleven shots on goal and hit the post three times. Good efforts from Alli Dejong, Kallie Miller and Manon MacCalister helped the cause as well. Next match on the road Monday.
