RE: Silly Stuff/lingam32443

Having read Pete’s  comment (CC#3955)on Miss piggy as well as the original post (CC #3954), I feel I should say my peace. Quite frankly, I am a supporter of free speech and an avid reader of the chatlist. In my opinion (humble or otherwise) I feel that if anyone who is a certified Chatham resident with a membership to this list, they have an equal right to speak their mind. Whether that is the slippery slope of soap conflation or the airing of ones disapprobation of the matter. I am neither a  Miss Piggy fan, nor do I abhor Miss Piggy or the sweet simulacrum of slippery swine soap.

What I do support is any poster’s inalienable right to write what he/she feels is right. When people speak or write an opinion publicly, it shows intestinal fortitude and a willingness to share. What good does it anyone to push away the people that have made this list a successful endeavor?

Interestingly on the same page that Pete-‘s post ( not to point fingers Pete) the first post was Gene Galins post on the celebrated 3500 members waypoint. Yay! Chatham Chatlist! Go Chatham-ites! My fear is that if we push people away because they write things we might not care to read someone might have to explain to Gene why his subscriber numbers are down and trust me I do not want to have to be the one who has to apologize to anyone for being the cause of that. (Really Pete, I think we would be friends if we were introduced at some kind of public event by mutual acquaintances, even if we disagree about frilly pink soap in the form of fat farm fauna frivolities)

As far as you Nabboko, you soap loving Chatham-ite, I am very happy that you not only found great profundity and  pleasure in one of life’s little novelties but you also that you shared your bubbly delight with your community.  they say that the best things in life are free, The soap may not have been free but the delight that I got from reading this post certainly was.

To you Pete-, I say,  thank you for your valuable input and the courage to say what you think when something got you lathered up. To you Nabooko, I say party on with your brave bubbly happiness!  I hope you can put this behind you and find some common ground. Maybe you both like rubber duckies or something. Never the less, I wish you both the best and I hope to see more posts from the both of you great people. I am off to take a bath. Has anyone seen my loofah?

Have a great day!
