The Chatham County Board of Commissioners has rescheduled dates or locations for two upcoming meetings, including moving the public hearing on the proposed location of a discharge line in part of Chatham County to serve a proposed wastewater treatment plant for the Western Wake Partnership (WWP) to Feb. 7, when the board will meet in Moncure.
Tuesday, Jan. 18: The next meeting of the Board of Commissioners will be held in two locations.
The afternoon work session, tentatively slated for 2 pm, will be held in the Multipurpose Room in Building 2 of Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro.
The regular session at 6 pm will be held in Pittsboro Elementary School’s Multipurpose Room, located at 375 Pittsboro Elementary Road in Pittsboro. The school is almost directly behind the School Administration Building on West Street in Pittsboro.
Monday, Feb. 7: The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners will include the public hearing on the proposed WWP discharge line and will be held at Moncure School in the gymnasium, beginning at 6 pm. The time and location of the work session earlier that afternoon has not yet been determined, but will be announced well in advance of the meeting.
“We were especially concerned about moving the date and location of the public hearing for the WWP so that we could accommodate more people interested in this issue,” said Commissioner Chairman Brian Bock. “The Moncure location is more convenient for residents potentially impacted by the proposed discharge line.”
