Subject: Chatham County DSS Christmas Wishes Program
This year we will be trying to meet the Christmas Wishes of over 100 children involved with Chatham County Department of Social Services during the Christmas season. Over the past four years, we have been fortunate to see our program grow considerably. This year we look forward to more generous donations than ever. We hope that
you will consider sponsoring one of our children this year. Below is more information about how the program works in order to best serve the children and families in our community.
1. Each child will provide Chatham DSS with three specific wishes. Each child will be matched with a specific donor who agrees to meet one, two, or all three wishes. You may work with another donor to sponsor a child together or sponsor more than one child if you wish. The children ask for a variety of gifts so even a small donation is welcome. Simply tell us what you are able to donate and we can provide an appropriate list.
2. We ask that gifts arrive at Chatham County DSS UNWRAPPED. We will then provide wrapping paper and supplies to the children’s families so that they can wrap the gifts themselves.
3. We host a holiday event called Christmas Cottage during which time all of the donations and gifts will be dropped off. All gifts must be dropped off at the Chatham County DSS Christmas Cottage (located at Chatham County DSS) on the following dates during these times . .
Friday, December 10, 2010 – 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Saturday, December 11, 2010 – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
