Chatham Artists Guild receives support for the 17th Chatham Studio Tour

At the Opening Reception of the 2009 Chatham Studio Tour, Outgoing  President Forrest Greenslade expressed appreciation to the Chatham Economic Development Corporation and the Carolina Meadows’ Community Grants Program for supporting this year’s event. Dianne Reid, President of the EDC told art-lovers at the reception that the arts play an
important role in economic development, and the Chatham Studio Tour is a big event in Chatham County.  The EDC sponsored this year’s reception, which is held each year at the Central Carolina Community College campus in Pittsboro.

Incoming President, Edwin White added, “There has always been a strong, supportive arts community within Carolina Meadows.” White has developed close relationships within Carolina Meadows while working on a sculptural commission. He says, “I look forward to a future partnership between our Guild and this art-loving community.”

The *Chatham Artists Guild* (www.chathamartistsguild.org <http://www.chathamartistsguild.org>)  is a non-profit organization of regionally and nationally recognized visual artists. Each year, Guild members open their studios to the public through the Chatham Open Studio Tour. Visitors travel throughout lovely rural Chatham County to meet artists in their own work spaces, and share their ideas on art and the creative process.
