Subject: Blast At Chatham Landfill

Regarding the landfill blast- Here is what I have just learned:

Turns out it was some ordinance experts from Ft. Bragg exploding stuff the sheriff’s office had come across. They do it about twice a year..

What crock of SH*T- Why in the heck didn’t they give the public some warning.  If indeed they do this twice a year, it is news to me-
Nothing has ever been this earthshaking.  I bet my bottom dollar these “experts” had no idea it was going to be such an earth shattering blast.  This is an outrage!!!! Next time, take it back to Fort Bragg and let’er rip down there.

Again, I repeat, these experts had no idea that it would be a blast of major concern.

Thurman Maness

Let me be square with you on this Mr. Maness, you have no knowledge of what you speak. The men and women who risk their lives destroying ordinance like this are the best trained experts in the world. How dare you disrespect them just cause you almost pooed your pants when they were doing our local government a favor by taking time out of their schedule to do something that no one here is capable of doing. Ordinance like this cannot be shipped 100 miles away for disposal simply because of the risk of an accident while on the highways. Sure as the sky is blue something would happen and then criers like you would be screaming about how our government dares to haul stuff like this on our public roads.

Like most things our military does, they are d@mned if they do and d@mned if they don’t. I am certain they knew what kind of blast it would be and quite frankly, they don’t have to tell me or you or the fence post squat. Man up and be grateful for what they do  for us each and every day of their lives. My cousin blows ordinance for the military and you don’t know half of what they go through simply doing their job each day. How would you like to wake up each day with the thought that it could be your last? Now unless you suffered some kind of physical or property damage as a result of them doing their JOB, you have no argument as I am concerned.

Why don’t we do more to support our soldiers instead of tear them down? That’s my vent for the week.
