Swine Flu Vaccine Update in Chatham County

Subject: H1N1 Vaccine Update in Chatham County

Chatham County Public Health Department received 300 doses of the live virus flu vaccine last week. The live virus flu vaccine is in the form of a nasal spray. This vaccine should only be given to healthy, non-pregnant persons aged 2-49 years. The Chatham County Public Health Department is offering the vaccine to persons in the targeted priority groups first. This includes:

*         Healthcare workers with direct patient contact,

*         Household contacts and caregivers of infants less than 6 months old, and

*         Children 2-18 years of age.

If you meet one of these criteria please call for an appointment for vaccine at either the Pittsboro clinic, 919-542-8220 or the Siler City clinic, 919-742-5641. There is no charge for the vaccine but we may charge an administration fee to your insurance company.
