Chatham County Artists “Strut Their Stuff” at June – July Exhibit of Master Works

The Chatham County Arts Gallery in downtown Pittsboro will feature “Strut Your Stuff,”  an exhibit highlighting the best pieces our member artists have to offer.  Visitors will enjoy the unique opportunity to see what the artist considers to be his or her best.

The show spotlights pottery and furniture and features artists such as Roger Lamanna, John Makowski and Rita Spina. Roger Lamanna, is a furniture maker working with metal and stone. Lamanna enjoys the physical process of working with metal and the strength and fluidity of the steel. His addition of stone compliments the steel with texture and movement.

Pastel artist, Kim Werfel, a new addition to the Chatham Arts Gallery, creates portraits of people and animals that convey sensitivity to her subjects’ personalities as well capture their likeness.

Former ChathamArts Gallery interim manager and water colorist, Florence Johnson  will feature paintings documenting her travels and the gorgeous landscapes she’s seen around the globe.

Painters Joey Howell, Marrianna Osolin Putnam and Emma Skurnick present their most outstanding pieces. Each makes a completely unique and exceptionally striking impact.

Also exhibiting will be photographs by Elaine Rhoades, dichroic glass jewelry by artist Nancy Ferguson, fine beadwork by Deirdre Brown, and much more.

The exhibit begins as part of Pittsboro First Sunday on June 7th and will run until the end of July. Stop in for refreshments and quality time with local artists before you head to the CCCC Land Lab for Potluck in a Pasture!
