Hi everyone,

So can you believe lil’ ole Chatham County now has FOUR farmers’ markets? So now NO ONE has an excuse for not being able to make it to at least one of them during the week, right?

Our farmers have been hard at work growing and harvesting our food. This is a great time to buy local – there’s lots of great spring produce like sugar snap peas, broccoli, greens, lettuce, onions, and much more while the summer crops are starting to come in. PEACH season has begun, and we still have great strawberries too. And don’t forget about all the great locally raised meats and artisanal cheeses AND delicious baked goods AND lovely cut flowers, perennials, bedding plants, and hanging baskets.

Tuesday:
Fearrington Farmers’ Market from 4:00 til early evening at Fearrington Village

Thursday:
Pittsboro Farmers’ Market from 3:30-6:30 pm at the county fairgrounds in Pittsboro

Saturday:
Siler City Farmers’ Market from 10:00 am-1:00 pm in downtown Siler City

Saturday:
Carolina Brewery Farmers’ Market from 8:00 am-noon at Carolina Brewery off of 15/501 in Pittsboro

Check out Cooperative Extension’s Growing Small Farms website at

Have a great week,
Debbie
