Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control Ordinance Revision Workshop

A Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control Ordinance Revision Workshop will be on Thursday, May 28, at 7:00 pm.  The workshop will be held downstairs in the auditorium at the Chatham County Agriculture Building in Pittsboro.  The workshop is being conducted jointly by the Chatham County Center of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service and the Chatham County Division of Environmental Resources.

Topics covered will include:  the new limit on disturbed acreage; single family lot permit;
slopes – steep, moderate, and gradual; changes in design criteria; time limits on stabilization; mandatory standards; watershed protection ordinance; storm water ordinance; certificate of compliance/completion; expiration of permit/approval; revocation of permit; and self inspection.

The presenters will be Jim Willis, Lead Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Officer, and Rachael Thorn, Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Officer.

Developers, builders, contractors, site foremen, and property owners are encouraged to attend.
