Subject: Pittsboro animal hospital scam
I called them about a rabies vaccination and was told that State law requires them to do a physical examination. When I said that I knew that there was no such State law, I was told that this is their policy.
Obviously the only reason for this policy is so that they can get another $50 on top of the $17 for the rabies vaccination. (Animal control clinics charge $5) I believe that their policy is unethical and I recommend the Hope Crossing Clinic which does not require an examination. Veterinarians should be encouraging rabies vaccinations, not gouging the public.
