I have been away and just returned to catch up on around 15 chatlist postings. I have a problem with the way the Salvation Army handles their donations.

I have a friend that the school sent in their names to the SA with all the information on the two girls and the parents. The mother received a card telling her to pick up their donated gifts which was from Mt. Olive Baptist Church this morning. When she arrived the donated items were not there and she was told that they had not arrived.

Instead of telling her that they would notify her when they arrived they took a card slated for another person and scratched out their names and gave it to my friend. This card was from another church slated for someone they sent it for. My friend asked if she should come back later and pick up what was from Mt. Olive Church she was told that was all she gets. The parents was hoping that this would provide a better Christmas for their girls but Grinch has stole Christmas  from them. What they got was two gift cards from Food Lion another gift certificate not worth much. I think someone at the SA saw what was donated and they in turn gave it to some of their friends.

I’t sorry but an orginization such as the SA who depends on people to help other people should not be the ones to decide who gets what after the orginization that they asked to help a certain family does so. The collected items was collected for a certain family and should only go to that family. I now have a bad view of the SA and will not donate through them again.
