Diane,

I heartily recommend Chad Phillips of Total Land Care.  His number is 336-328-1094.

Chad is a Certified Arborist…and it shows.  He has a great deal of knowledge about how to care for trees–anything from growing ’em to treating them for disease to taking ’em down, when it’s necessary.  He’s a member of a tree preservation and management group in Asheboro and used to work as an arborist for the zoo in Asheboro, until he went out on his own.

I’ve used Chad twice to help me take down dead trees on my property.  He’s always been very careful to bring them down with minimal collateral damage to the surrounding trees.  And his prices are very reasonable.  I referred him to a friend of mine, and she, too, was very impressed with him — in terms of his knowledge about trees, the care he takes with his work, and his pricing.

Last summer, in response to my post on beech tree fungus, several people recommended that we contact an arborist concerning our trees. How does one find one of those? Can anyone recommend someone? Many thanks.

Respect,
