My name is Patricia Barner and I’m a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist # 5335 and am pleased to be working in historic downtown Pittsboro, just two blocks east of the courthouse. My office is in the Nooe Building at 224 East St. at the corner of Rte. 64 and Small St.
I offer traditional Swedish and Myofascial techniques as well as holding my certification in Medical Massage. Through my work, I’ve had the opportunity to see how our bodies reflect our histories and beliefs about ourselves. This is what prompted me to earn my certification as a Somatic Coach from the Strozzi Institute in California.
Somatic Coaching is a natural fit into my current practice as it is the only coaching program which introduces the relevance of the body into the coaching process. Through observation, movement practices, breath work and Somatic Bodywork the client can create new patterns, literally a new “BodySelf”. Working with and through the body one is working with the entire being.
