*Five Element Acupuncture in Pittsboro. – Sara Ruth Kane, L.Ac.*

A year and a half has passed since I opened my acupuncture practice in Pittsboro at the Chatham Wellness Center.  I introduced myself through this wonderful chatlist and then was happy to see some of my patients offer their testimonials on my behalf here as well.  My name is Sara Kane, and I relocated here from Miami, Florida, where I was dean of students, clinical supervisor and faculty member at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture.  When my school decided to relocate to Gainesville, I decided the time had come to fulfill a long-held wish to live near my sister, who has lived in Moncure for several years now.

I practice a style of acupuncture called Five Element  acupuncture. It is a holistically oriented mode of health care that has stood the test of time. My training taught me always to look for the root causes, not only the symptoms that are on the surface.  My patients often report pain relief, improved digestion and sleep, greater emotional stability and a general increase in vitality and sense of well-being.  I have a reputation for gentleness and most treatments are quite relaxing.

Five Element acupuncture is especially supportive in times of stress or transition. It improves mental clarity for decision-making. It is an excellent modality for preventive care, correcting imbalances before they become established diseases. In cases of chronic illness, acupuncture can work side by side with western medicine – strengthening all the organ systems, helping to deal with medication side effects and enhancing the body’s wonderful powers of self-healing.

Please feel free to call me with any questions at (919) 337-7645.  In addition to the Pittsboro office, I also have an office in Carrboro on Ashe Street.  A free 20-minute consultation is offered to all.  I very much appreciate the welcome I have received here and I hope to be an asset to the community for many years to come..
