There are many scattered around – the two I have dealt with are:
It’s been a few years since I’ve been to see Chris and Wanda Braxton (and son John Paul) but they are in Silk Hope on Lindley Mill Rd. (Braxton’s saw mill) – he started out as a quite small operation but is huge by comparison today – so I do not know whether he’ll take a small (?) order for lumber. I bought lumber and sawdust/shavings from him years ago for my horse farm! The whole family are very pleasant folks – Chris’ dad, John, is a renowned gunsmith, and grandpa was the “farmer” while living….
The other contact I have who I know can help is Johnnie Cates – Cates Saw Mill – and he is over in Mebane – don’t have his number with me but call and I’ll share it if you can’t find it in the phone book.
The later is just off I-85 / I-40 – There is an easy (back way) to get there – call if interested…
