Hello, Dan!

So sorry to hear about the negative experiences you are having with dogs.

My name is Nicole Silvers, and I am the new behavior management consultant in residence at Goathouse Gallery & Refuge in Pittsboro. I have extensive experience with extreme behavior, including fear & aggression. I prefer to coach owners to work with the dogs themselves; however, when there is a risk of injury, this is not always a possibility.

Please contact me at 919-542-6815 at your earliest convenience. I am certain I can be of assistance in choosing an appropriate course of action for your situation.

Following that discussion, we may or may not begin work together. Sometimes what is best for the dog, family, and community at large includes rehoming, securing placement at a no-kill sanctuary, or euthanasia. However, I have seen some real “make-overs” take place with a little guidance from appropriate professionals–myself and others.

Clearly, you are trying to do what is best for the dogs, despite your frustration. Looking for help instead of dumping them says a lot about your personal character, and you are to be commended for that.
