Go further on less

If you remember I once mentioned a nice old lady crying at the gas station. She had lost her husband and was working 2 jobs to pay the bills. She was crying because she took a 3rd job just to buy gas to get to the first two jobs to pay for her bills. Gas was breaking her up taking her only grocery money leaving barely enough to cover her other bills.  This left an impression on me. Every time the price of gas goes up and I see more and more people suffer I think of the nice gray haired old lady in tears at the gas pump.

I  posted the progress I made on the shop truck. It was a 70 Chevrolet with a 350 engine and manual transmission. I started at 14 mpg and with special tuning put it over 22 mpg. The engine had nearly 200,000 miles on it and the truck was dying slowly. I found it a new home and continued to study how gasoline is consumed in our vehicles.  I have my personal pickup I have had for many years I simply don’t drive due to the price of gas. It’s a 1969 Chevrolet  with a 396 cubic inch engine ,, 400 plus horsepower and its an automatic. When I built  the engine  new it barely got 6 mpg. I fiddled with it until it got 10 mpg on the highway and 8 mpg local and it will not run on anything but premium gas.. It will carry anything or pull anything very, very fast , but is very impractical for every day driving. In its best state of tune is has never ,, not once broken 10 mpg.  I no longer have a truck other than it so its become my trash truck to be driven only once a month. I really love to drive that truck and hate to see it just sit. I thought of the nice old lady and my truck and decided I was tired of putting up with the bastards that control the price of gas. They are the real terrorist threat. They are terrorizing this nation by crippling our economy into a serious depression. People are afraid of how they are going to make ends meet with rising food and travel cost.

I started looking at all sorts of gas saving gimmicks and gizmos. The one thing I kept coming across that has had some success is the HHO fuel booster. Simply put its electrolysis that knocks one electron off the water molecule so the covalent bonds between Hydrogen and Oxygen  break down. This releases two gases ,, hydrogen and oxygen ,, both are very combustible. The result is called HHO  gas or Hydroxy. This has been used for years as a fuel for welders. Its been used as a fuel booster to improve gas mileage too. When hydroxy gas burns you get water vapor as the escaping exhaust gas so its very environmentally friendly.  Its basic chemistry 101 and has been around for 100 years. I suppose the oil companies didn’t want anyone to know about it as anyone who had success running a vehicle on straight hydroxy disappeared or were poisoned as in the case of Stan Meyers.

I have been a mechanic for many years and I know what works and what don’t and it takes  proof for me to agree something works. With that in mind I experimented with the hydrogen fuel cell design commonly found online. I made my own version and focused on what worked and what didn’t until I felt comfortable I could try it on a real engine.  Today I took my 35 year old truck for a drive to Durham to a friends home. I drove at 60 mph round trip, drove it normally with my heavy foot and managed to get a rock solid 15 mpg with my 90% completed hydrogen fuel cell enhancing the mix all the way. 15 mpg doesn’t sound so good until you consider it never ,, ever broke 10 in its life. Now with that in mind the hydrogen oxygen gas mixture did something unexpected to my engine. I stopped when I got home and the engine was idling faster than normal. I had to slow the idle speed down because the HHO enhancement cleaned the carbon out of the engine.  The engine ran smoother, quieter and made more power with the fuel enhancement device functioning perfectly. I took time to check out a few other things and the engine ran so well I had to adjust almost every setting on it. I had to reset the ignition timing and fuel mixture screws. The engine showed remarkable horsepower gains tonight and I suspect it will exceed the 15mpg point and then some.

If a truck will improve from 10 mpg to 15 with just adding the device ,, can you imagine what its going to do properly tuned to compensate for the enhanced fuel mixture. It will burn even less fuel.  These fuel boosters are consistently good for a minimal 25% fuel economy increase. There are vehicles on the road like a Toyota Camry I was told about  that went from 26 mpg to 69mpg with one of these properly installed by its owner.  My goal is to continue to learn more about the process and the next step is to take my van that gets 20 local and 24 open road and push the thing into the 40 mpg range. I honestly feel I can and then some with this simple process.

I know this is a bit technical but here is the thing that is important. I hope to refine my cell plans so it can be easily duplicated by anyone with decent mechanical skills and installed on a vehicle. I want to help those that install them learn how to tune the vehicle to optimize its mileage so it is far more efficient than Detroit ever designed it to be. I don’t care about being famous or on TV, I have already done that. I just care about that little gray haired lady crying at the gas pump. Its time we help each other and find ways to survive.I want to see people in this community benefit from this not some big company.  It doesn’t look like the government will help us and I know the oil companies have no interest in gas saving devices.

I have had success so far and I may fail many times before its perfected but I will let you know how the progress is going.  I’m happy I actually drove my truck on a long trip and got better mileage. I will be even happier when I don’t see anyone crying at the gas pump.

Goodnite, Mark 😉
