As the ground moisture lessens and the heat wave grows; ant colonies are searching for water and food in more places.

Rock, asphalt and housing structures often trap surface moisture underneath. If you notice what looks like one ant colony on each side of the road, it’s often one colony that has tunneled several feet deep under the structure.

Your average ant hill is only the tip of the iceberg. Single queen colonies can have 500,000 workers scavenging up to 100yds away from the queen. I won’t even go into multi-queen colony numbers, but they are huge.

Many people come to me about their plaguing ant problems, but are caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to harsh chemical pesticides and the home.

Chatham County farmers know we (J. Henry) are a good source for spinocide base fire ant killers which are OMRI approved for organic food production. Although few are aware that we carry many types of POISON FREE Ant, Spider & Flying Insect killers. They use mint oils, which is a natural carcinogen to most arthropods.

The stuff smells like mouthwash, lasts for up to 8 weeks. Did I mention that it works!
