Subject: volunteering
Thank you Meg for the suggestion. I do, in fact, volunteer a great deal in the summer time and it does indeed help with the long summer. I find that my good works performed in the summer usually bear fruit in the fall (and then the long cold winter with sick children). Many of my past summer projects have evolved into successful summer programs for children. Certainly my past work with the thrift shop, while hot as the hinges of heck, gave me many hours of mindless bliss. I also recommend to all the joy of volunteering for those agencies which rely upon volunteers. We all have to live so we can’t give all our time but an hour here and there can build a house for a family, or provide support for a rider with balance issues, or give an elder the chance to talk, or teach a child to read (many, many, many hours for that one).

Susan Harris
Susan has initiated a most creative business:

Kit, thank you for your response. I have considered the danger of these dogs and will seriously consider your suggestions. They are sound and the best advice I have received from anyone regarding this problem. I have children of my own and would be very disturbed if a biting dog was anywhere near them. In fact, I did have a dangerous stray threaten my children on my property. I took care of that myself.

Subject: Help!
My life is falling apart and I need assistance from the community at large. After reading the recent “stolen dog” drama, I needed to put in my need for someone to “steal” my two bad dogs. They eat cats (which I
need around to keep me sane) and chickens (I just like them and want a flock) and occasionally good friends (well one of them has bitten 5 of my good friends).

Regarding Lyle Estill’s book, I think the plot actually thickens on page 5. But that’s just me.
Abundance Foundation is selling Small is Possible online:
