Petitions against reorganization and or redistricting are gong out today across the county . We desperatly need voluntiers to take petitions for parents to sign  . Its very important we get all the parents organized and get those signatures to show the BOE we mean business and we wont take a back seat to a plan that will have a negative  effect on us all .  If this plan goes into place it wont just effect the K-12 schools , like Wake county the shuffle will begin moving kids across the county to unfamiliar schools creating a busing nightmare .

Thanks to Gene I was able to view video clips from last week’s candidates forum at the Moncure Fire House.

I like techie women! And Commissioner candidate Pam Stewart did a very nice job at the forum. She slam dunks her opponent Tom Vanderbeck

You go girl!

I would love to see our children have more interaction with the business community. After all most of them will graduate from high school and college and go work in the private sector.

Here’s what I learned about places that process in-shell pecans:

http://www.ncpecans.org/sources.htm

Some pecan processers don’t answer email.  It is their busy season.

You possibly shouldn’t make any processing decisions based on  who does or does not list shelling on that site; apparently, the Goldsboro processers DO shell for the public at a rate of 35/50/85 cents per pound in-shell nuts, cracked, blown and cleaned, respectively.  Other processers appear to be in the same range; some give a price break at the 500# level.

*Five Element Acupuncture in Pittsboro. – Sara Ruth Kane, L.Ac.*

A year and a half has passed since I opened my acupuncture practice in Pittsboro at the Chatham Wellness Center.  I introduced myself through this wonderful chatlist and then was happy to see some of my patients offer their testimonials on my behalf here as well.  My name is Sara Kane, and I relocated here from Miami, Florida, where I was dean of students, clinical supervisor and faculty member at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture.  When my school decided to relocate to Gainesville, I decided the time had come to fulfill a long-held wish to live near my sister, who has lived in Moncure for several years now.

Subject: Chatham County cool places

I would like to echo the recent post about PC’s Cool Place. It is a great place for a meal or just ice cream. A good friend took me there recently and we had a great time. My son’s were treated like royalty. Any place that calls me darlin and takes care of my kids is on my list. Next time you are in Siler City, go check out this little gem. It is not that far off the path, just blocks from downtown.  Tell them Darlin’ sent you.
