Preserve your old photographs for free! Help the Chatham County Historical Association build its collection of photos of people, places and events in the county and get a CD of the photos that we can use for free.

Your photos will be scanned into digital form for free while you wait with this CCHA project. You’ll get a CD of the scans for printing later. No appointment necessary.

Two more sessions scheduled this month:

Siler City – September 17 , Chatham Camera Club Gallery, 229 N. Chatham Ave. 10:00-1:00

Goldston – September 24,  Goldston United Methodist Church, 185 Hillcrest Avenue, 10:00-1:00

Help us collect and save images that reflect the lifestyle of Chatham County residents from pre-1900s through the 1950s. These pictures are difficult to locate so we need your help!

CCHA especially would like photos of people at work–whether it be farming, manufacturing, domestic work, or however folks made a living. Life’s important events such as family reunions, corn shuckings, quilting bees, parades, church gatherings, military reunions, youth events, political gatherings, communities working together in work or play are significant. Pictures of buildings of times past such as old stores, old schools, and churches are important to the county’s heritage.

If you have Chatham County photos of any of these things, please share them and make them part of the county’s permanent collection!
