Chatham County, North Carolina commissioners are more worried about catering to large corporations than they are about looking out for tax paying citizens. Erosion and water runoff from large developments are damaging neighboring properties and are polluting our water ways. Recycling centers are often at maximum capacity, causing long lines or turning people away to return another day or drive across the county to another facility. Waste separated for recycling is often just dumped in regular bulk trash bins, due to the inability to handle our increasing population. Maybe our commissioners should focus on the counties infrastructure instead of another photo opportunity for a corporate ribbon cutting ceremony.
