The 18th Annual Hoppin’ John Fiddlers’ Convention returns to Shakori Hills Community Arts Center in Pittsboro, September 11–13, 2025. This beloved celebration of music, dance, and community features contests, concerts, workshops, family fun, and the famous Hoppin’ John Cook-Off.

Highlights include Friday night performances from Richie and Rosie, Grammy-nominated musician Cedric Watson, and blues masters Clyde Mattocks and Lightnin’ Wells. Showcases will honor Black string band pioneer Joe Thompson, spotlight NC gospel music traditions, and feature acclaimed old time stringband The Red Hots!
Families can enjoy children’s contests, crafts, dance workshops, and more—kids 15 and under get in free.
