It is disgusting and shameful to see people collect items they don’t need from the “Swap Shop” exchange at the Pittsboro waste and recycling center behind Food Lion.
Two times recently, I saw women stuffing their vehicles with armfuls of items they carried from the compilation of free things left there by others. I thought the idea was to serve neighbors who might need clothing, glassware, a book, small appliance, or who-knows-what that turns up.
Apparently, some folks aren’t searching for things they can use. Looks like they’re taking all they can to sell.
Next time, I’ll photograph you, your license plate, and your vehicle overflowing with goods that were offered for others. And I’ll ask you what you’re up to.
