I was disappointed to see that tripe from a purported guru from gulf attacking my friends Lesley Landis and Randy Voller.

People in my generation learned years ago to steer clear of self proclaimed gurus, but that is a topic for another post.

How well could this guru be at observing anything if they could not even spell her name correctly?

It is Lesley not Leslie.

And Commissioner Fiocco is a gem.

I have attended many, many town board meetings over the years in person and on Zoom and unlike some other officials, Mike Fiocco is always prepared, asks good questions and is ready to do the work on behalf of the Town of Pittsboro.

And like Pam Baldwin he also participates on a number of boards that better Pittsboro and Chatham County.

I do not know Mr. Vose, and he seems like a nice guy, but I have never seen him at a meeting or participating in a board to better Pittsboro or Chatham County.

Before Mayor Nass became Mayor he lost to Mayor Randy Voller in 2011 and afterwards he rolled up his sleeves and got involved and did a lot of work on boards to better Pittsboro and Chatham County.

Now he is the Mayor.

As for the other pot shots from the alleged guru of bucketmouth they got it wrong again.

Randy Voller, Jim Nass, Mike Fiocco, Lesley Landis, Kitty Meacham, Doug Emmons, Greg Lewis and Maria Parker-Lewis were the founding board members of the wonderful local non-profit Main Street Pittsboro in 2017.

This was all covered in this September story in the Chatham County Line:

These four founders, Mr. Voller, Mr. Nass, Mr. Emmons, and Ms. Meacham, are no longer on the Main Street Board so once again the guru got it wrong.

I know Mr. Voller and Ms.Landis to be tireless workers in our community and advocates for the community and I have observed them for over 10 years.

Our community is better off because of them not in spite of them and I will toast them the next time I am at a local establishment.

In fact it is because of them and their leadership that we have liquor-by-the-drink in Chatham County in the first place and for that alone they deserve a clink of the glass.
