I just wanted to chime in on this experience, as I don’t’ know if it is an available option in this area. I had a speeding ticket in a different county years ago and I was given a court date, etc., and the requisite mailbox stuffing of attorney offerings. I was also given the option to attend a Saturday AM, 4 hour course in driving safety, at which point I could submit my certificate of completion to the clerk of court, my court date would be cancelled (though I still had to pay a court fee), and the ticket would be expunged from my record UNLESS I received a ticket within 3 years. Furthermore, the course was recognized by many insurance companies (including mine) that resulted in a lower auto insurance premium. I dreaded using up a Saturday AM to get myself out of trouble, but I have to say the course was interesting and the teacher was excellent.
I have not received a ticket since. I don’t know if my driving has improved or I simply haven’t been caught.
Good luck!
