My primary care doctor is at Duke. I wrote and asked about availability as I am in phase 1b. The response I got basically says … ‘we don’t know’. Here is what they wrote me:
“At this time we do not have a distribution plan that has reached the local clinic level yet. We know that Duke is working with the state and federal government in development of one, however it is still in the planning stages at this time and local decisions have not been made yet. Until determinations have been made at the senior level at Duke as to the priorities of any vaccine and its distribution, we currently do not have a time line available. We recognize that this is going to be a very sought after vaccine, and once we get some better time frames on its release as well as who may be prioritized to receive it, we will let patients throughout Duke know. You will be contacted via your Duke MyChart, e-mail or letter. If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know. Thank you very much!”
It does not surprise me … a couple of months ago I informally heard from someone at Duke that it would be April for the Moderna vaccine.
Be patient, practice the 3 W’s and be safe.

Mary Alexion
