I recently saw a post regarding cell phone plans and recommendations. We have had experience with two pre-paid cell phone providers not mentioned. We are located off Jones Ferry Road. We use our cell phones as our home phone so a decent signal strength iss important. For a few years we used Cricket Wireless. Cricket is owned and operated by AT&T. Cricket’s prices are very competitive and we found the coverage to be quite good but not 100%. Overall, I had no complaints about Cricket. However, about a year ago I decided to switch to a company operating on the Verizon network to see if it would fill in the coverage gaps we experienced on the AT&T network. We switched to Visible Wireless. Visible is owned and operated by Verizon. As with most of these companies, the more lines you have the cheaper the cost per line. We have three lines and we pay $30.00 per line. We have unlimited talk, text and data for each line. Additionally, we have free use of the phone as a mobile hotspot, a nice perk we didn’t have with Cricket. Signal strength and coverage is typical of what you would expect on Verizon’s network. Like AT&T, Verizon’s coverage isn’t 100% but it is quite good. The price per line is similar for both Visible and Cricket but the somewhat improved coverage, unlimited data and mobile hotspot feature tip the scales toward Visible.
