Both were asymptomatic when Billy fell and was hospitalized at the beach. I don’t know which beach or which hospital first tested him and then Joanne Positive. Both died of Covid respiratory failure. Wish I had more precise details. You are very correct about asymptomatic persons often being Covid positive and ideally we would be testing widely and identifying these carriers who are unaware that they are spreading the virus. Was sad to see report of CDC today failing to push such tests for whoever wants one, especially those going back to college. Our only power against SARS-CoV-2 is knowledge, and there is precious little knowledge; We have at least learned to distinguish 4 stages, asymptomatic, early mild, moderate O2 deficit and severe, and know that some treatments are appropriate for early and moderate and very different for late, specifically, dexamethasone for late is harmful in early, and moderate.
Please everybody have a flu shot ASAP; they are not perfect, but perfect is the enemy of good, and a high % of persons vaccinated PLUS those distancing, mask, hand washing that we are doing for Covid can dramatically lessen our flu cases. South Africa is an example.
Meanwhile, do all you can to avoid transmission of virus.
