I did actually get a jar of hand sanitizer at the Food Lion in Liberty but there were only two more in stock.
Having said that, it seems most supplies are going to larger stores in larger towns. Our kids can get just about anything in Apex. The Food Lion in Asheboro has significantly more cleaning items than Liberty or Pittsboro. I was able to get Lysol, Chlorox Wipes and liquid hand soap refill in Asheboro last week.
Industry has spent decades designing a very efficient supply chain for paper products. The upside is lower prices. The downside is that the efficiency came at the cost of resilience. Meaning; there is no excess capacity to meet a surge in demand. The current dearth of flour on store shelves is more directly related to a lack of packaging and not a lack of product.
The reason I’m boring you with this story is to point out the need to save all junk mail, as this is going to take some time to work through
