I sometimes don’t like what Booko writes. This is the most beloved part of his writing. I don’t hear an appeal to the marketplace. He comes as a citizen, an ordinary man who loves to share his view of plants and lightening.
In the time of coronavirus we need authentic voices that can also sound flawed, for that too is authenticity.
I love and don’t love reading your posts and I imagine I get the same response about my own. So good to have this forum. On joyless “shut in” days voices come over this laptop: good advice, the irrepressible Taylor Kish rants, the “Chathamcentric” moderating of Gene Galin, the lost or found dog/cat/ring or the quest for a carpenter. And then also comes the strength you all bring simply by reassuring me and each other that decent people are there, just next door.
I like Fridays. All those classified posts: selling, giving, sharing, the “stuff” we all share or shared at yard sales I miss. Be assured. The Farmer’s Market, the flea market, food, food, food and lovely parks and fishing boats on Jordan Lake will become common to ignore in our future. We will, indeed, take ordinary life for granted in Pittsboro again. Bless you, all.
