In response to Camille’s post, which caught my eye and inspired me to read it immediately—
Using worn-out t-shirts will work fine too…maybe a doubled-layered / folded piece. I discovered this medium for blowing my nose last Winter, and it’s so much softer than tissue, and even traditional handkerchiefs.
I cut my old clothes with “pinking shears” to reduce the amount of fraying. It’s counterintuitive, to expose more edges, but it does work!
Thanks, Camille, for “outing me” as a TP and tissue recycler. I can now walk around proudly declaring my new identity, and telling others we’re on the same team!! Actually, early into the TP shortage, I knew I’d be OK, as I had this homey skill “under my belt.”
