With all the problems with RoundUp, and lukewarm reviews of other weed killers, I went online to see if I could make my own. I did, and the results are pretty good (not as good as RoundUp, but loss of dangerous chemicals and carcinogens makes up for it). Mix 1 gallon of white vinegar ($2.64 at Walmart) with 1 cup of salt ($0.36 for 1 pound at Walmart) and add tablespoon of liquid dish soap ($2.68 for 40 oz at Walmart). I use a garden sprayer ($17 for 1 gallon sprayer at Walmart).
All told, much cheaper than buying commercial weed killer, and safer than most. Roundup is still sold, around $12/gallon.
