Gang:

Here is a compilation of all the wonderful body shop recommendations I received (and a big thank you to everyone who took the time to respond)

J&M Paint and Body had three recommendations, followed by Carsmart with two (they are in the old Pittsboro Body Shop location).

I hope it is okay that I posted recommendations I received in private e-mails, but I wanted to share in case anyone runs into this in the near future. I’ve tried my best to remove any personally identifiable comments from the replies.

J&M Paint and Body (Pittsboro)

J and M paint and body shop on the Pittsboro Goldston Road is excellent. They have done some great work for me.

We had major repair on our car back In May when someone ran into us.  We used to go to Pittsboro Body Shop, but since it was sold, we tried J&M Paint and Body Shop on Pittsboro Goldston Road.  The staff was extremely helpful, explained our options, gave us an estimate, and most importantly did a fantastic job of fixing our car.  I would recommend them to anybody needing car body work.  The owner is Jimmy Pilkington and his son Mike.

While I haven’t personally used them, you might want to consider J&M on Pittsboro Goldston Rd.  I drive by there regularly and see that the sheriff’s office frequently uses them for repairs based upon the number of cars parked in their lot.

Carsmart (Previously Pittsboro Body Shop)
———-

If it s a small dent you might try Carsmart in Pittsboro.  They did our car after hail damage and did a decent job.

We’ve used them.  Overall good service and reasonable cost.

Wright’s Body Shop (Siler City)
———-

There are a number of good body shops in Chatham, Joe and Benji Wright have done street rods and show cars plus insurance damage for years.  He is in Siler City in the phone book.

Ed’s Auto Body (Pittsboro)
———-

Take it to Ed’s Auto Body Shop on Thompson Street next to laundromat. He is the best!

Mason’s Body Shop (near Lee County)
———-

Mason’s body shop is almost in Lee County, at 1852 Asbury Church Rd

919 548-2239  8-5 hours

He’s done good work when we’ve needed it, including converting our black van to a shiny white, some years ago, and repairing deer collision damage.

Randy’s Autobody (Lee County)
———-

Randy’s Autobody. He’s in Lee County, Sanford address, but it’s worth the drive. He does excellent work and he is quite reasonable. I absolutely tore up the front end of a car two years ago, and when he was done you couldn’t even tell there had been any damage. Paint matched perfectly. And it cost me nearly $400 less than the low estimate I got elsewhere.

Home: 919-774-1730
Cell: 919-708-3847

I might have the numbers mixed up between cell and home.

He’s on Farrell Road between Osgood Road and Ammons Farm Road.

Auto Star (Pittsboro)
———-

I recommend Auto Star in pittsboro on 15/501 S . They do excellent work. Reasonable prices. Great customer service.

Elite Auto Body (Pittsboro)
———-

Elite Auto Body has done fantastic work on my wife’s car and my truck. They used to have a billboard on 15/501 that said, “We make accidents unhappen” it’s true.

Nice people. great work, good price.  What more can you ask for?
