Last week, Pittsboro artist, Hamidou Sissoko, was feted at a wonderful event at the offices of Hobbs Architects, 159 West Salisbury Street in Pittsboro. Hami is my best friend and I was so thrilled to see he and his family celebrated in this way. Hami recently installed one of his metal sculptures in the front of the Hobbs building and I urge all of you to take a drive over and look at it. It was also great to see Hami’s wife Maureen and his two children enjoying themselves. I had the opportunity to speak to many of the people from the Pittsboro Arts Council and we all enjoyed the libations and amazing food that was provided. From the beautiful floral decorations to the music and choice of wines and beers, it was really an event where nothing was lacking.

It’s great to see talented people like Hami recognized and it’s even more heart warming when the professional people of the community care enough to throw him such a wonderful event. If you weren’t in attendance you truly missed a special event.
