Subject: Water water everywhere, and Chatham Park don’t think
On Chatham Park’s website, under the banner of “Clean Tech” we find this:
“Water is one of our most precious resources, and at Chatham Park, we’re committed to protecting and preserving it. That’s why we’re using the newest water conservation & wastewater treatment technologies available.”
Why doesn’t Chatham Park FIRST commit to some low tech protections and preservation of water? Namely, adhere to the buffer on the Haw River at the 2,000 feet that is in the Town of Pittsboro Land Use Plan so they can better keep their sediment and pollution run-off out of the river? It’s a technology that was already approved and committed to by the Town of Pittsboro. So why is the Town of Pittsboro now going back on their word and siding with Chatham Park against the State of NC to let Chatham Park build too close to the Haw River?
We’re drowning in vague promises predicated on “new technology”.
If water is a “most precious resource”, then Chatham Park and Town Of Pittsboro – stick with the buffer commitments for the river and all the streams that feed it!
