Subject: Confederate Statue Base Repair
How long does it take for the county to repair the base of the statue on the north side of the old courthouse?
So far about two years!
After requests from several citizens at both the county level and historical society, nothing has happened.
The bricks from the site have been riding around in the back of a county truck for sometime now. This minor repair of 7-8 bricks should have been made within a month of the accident that damaged the base.
We want new courthouses and structures, however, the county can’t make repairs to what we already have. Have a brick or two knocked off at the new courthouse and I would bet that repairs would be made in record time.
Chatham county citizens deserve better than this from our elected officials and managers of county property.
Do your job, stop procrastinating.
We the citizens can get someone in office or on the payroll that can do it.
Honor our veterans of all wars by making this repair as soon as possible.
