Hands-on Workshop: Growing Fall Vegetables from Seed

August is the time to sow seeds of cabbage, kale, collards, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, spinach, parsley and many other fall vegetables and herbs. Learn how to start fall vegetables from seed and gain hands on experience sowing seeds and transplanting seedlings during a hands-on workshop offered by N.C. Cooperative Extension, Chatham County Center.

This workshop will be offered twice, on Thurs., Aug. 3 and again on Sat., Aug. 5. Both workshops will be held at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center, 1192 US 64W Business, Pittsboro, and will be led by Charlotte Glen, Extension horticulture agent for Chatham County.

Chatham County Extension Master Gardener volunteers will assist with this hands on class. Participants will be working with potting soil, water, and seedlings so come prepared to get dirty!

To cover the cost of materials, there is a $10 fee for this workshop. Registration form and $10 fee are required by July 28, but space is limited – get your registration in early to guarantee your seat!
