Subject: Faith in Humanity
“My faith in humanity is restored. During the icy road conditions a driver lost control of his car – plowed into my mail box (not he first time, dammit!) – and after my initial – blankety, blank rage – I calmed down and seriously hoped no one was hurt – set about rebuilding my street-side mail box support – hats off to Postal worker who continued to get out of truck (rural delivery) and put my mail in “de-capitated box – Thank you !!! –
Anyway, today while I was out two young black men came to my front door and told my wife that it was they who lost control of their car and did the damage – offered to replace/repair and were thanked profusely by my wife but told I was already in my shop doing repairs – good excuse for me to get to work on a project. The long and the short of this is that (1) I never expected anyone to come forward and more importantly (2) my faith in humanity is restored!”
Thanks fellows – I hope my THANKS get back to you – wished I had your names/addresses I’d write a personal note. My faith in decent folks restored – a lot of people regardless of race would never IMHO done this.
God Bless you two individuals!
Comment:
I keep wondering why it was important to point out the color of the “Honest” young men’s skin? Wasn’t “young men” enough?
