Clean Jordan Lake (cleanjordanlake.org) is a grassroots, nonprofit founded in 2009.  Our mission is: Restore Jordak Lake to a healthy and vibrant aquatic resource by removing trash from the shoreline and preventing its recurrence.

In 235 trash cleanups, large and small, 4,600 volunteers have removed 12,000 bags of trash and nearly 3,900 tires from 15 mi. of Chatham County shoreline.

Most of the 180 miles of Jordan Lake’s shoreline is in Chatham County.  Our residents stand to benefit from CJL’s persistent efforts to keep the shoreline free of trash.

More Chatham County residents are needed on our Board to guide new initiatives aimed at upstream trash reduction and prevention in the long term.  Board appointments are for three years. The Board meets three times per year.  Members are expected to participate in one trash cleanup event each year in addition.

Please contact me if interested in serving.
