For Vet care, there are a couple out there (I think Dr. Tysor still does house calls) but there is also Dr. Betton was always fabulous with my dogs. I took my border collies (both of whom are no longer with us) to him when he worked at the Banfield at PetSmart in North Durham. These days, he has a mobile clinic that will come to you: http://www.drbetton.com/

He was always very good with my dogs, but we switched to Pittsboro Animal Hospital after moving here from Durham, years before he started his mobile clinic. So we’ve been very happy with Pittsboro Animal Hospital.

Dr Weiser in particular, while not doing house calls for normal care, that I know of, has always been willing to come to our home down in Bear Creek to euthanize our animals. It helps knowing (for us and for the other animals) that they can die peacefully, at home, with all of us around them, and it certainly helps the other dogs with the grieving process as they get a chance to sniff and paw at the deceased before the body is taken away.

PAH will take the body afterwards and handle the cremation and contact you when the pet’s ashes are ready to pick up at their office. They handle all the details and have made it so very easy on us during what is a very, very difficult time. They also do a very good job of routine vet care and have won us over because of how well they interact and treat both our animals and fosters/rescues.
