Subject: Care for Others
So overwhelmed by bad news, its heartwarming to see good news. Reading the N&O this morning I noticed an article about a retired doctor Jim Bryan’s contributions to hospice in Chatham County as well as his long term advocacy for the hospice concept. He also volunteers in other humanitarian organizations. Lets give a shout out for Dr. Bryan! Hospice services are so important in end of life care. Lets face it: we can all use the services now or later. My mother died in hospice in Florida, my father here in Chatham and my sister is in hospice in New York now. They all suffered greatly in hospitals until they found peace and great help in hospice.
Lets also continue to praise others, the many other people who provide volunteer services in Chatham to help others. We need to remember to do onto others as you would have them do onto you. And love your neighbor as yourself.
I have noted a positive shift in Chatlist posts lately, mostly providing good information or helping others. There still seems to be one person whose personality is stuck on negative. When people are stuck on negative, maybe they can reverse the trend and praise forces for good or volunteer for services which provide positive help to ameliorate the perceived wrong.I continue to offer a free therapy session to people who are overwhelmed by anger and negativity and would like to hear about some other approaches to problem solving.
And of course lets continue to thank Gene for his service to the Chatlist!
