Good morning Chatlisters! We’ve got a big weekend upcoming and we’re capping it off with the Pittsboro Christmas Parade Celebration on Sunday featuring Rhonda Robichaux. In the spirit of giving, we’re teaming up with the Chatham Literacy Council and donating 10% of our revenue from 4:30 PM until close to this truly worthy cause. Chatham Literacy is a wonderful charity that helps adults learn to read and get their HS Diploma.
Wednesday @ 8:00 -* Open Mic*
Come check out some of Pittsboro’s talent at Open Mic! As always on Wednesdays it’s $1 off draft beer as well
Friday @ 8:30 PM – *Mills Rainey Jazz Duo*
Guitarist David Mills and tenor saxophonist Jesse Rainey met each other inside North Carolina Central University’s B.N. Duke auditorium in late October 2013, and have been actively gigging in the Triangle area ever since. Believing in the importance of keeping the jazz tradition of “swing†alive, The Mills-Rainey Jazz Duo stays true to the roots of jazz, plays a variety of jazz standards, ballads, and blues and gives their all in each performance..

Saturday @ 8:30 PM – *Pagan Hellcats*
We’ve all got stories of the bands in our pasts. But this one comes together as a band dedicated to enjoying the making of original music that sticks in your head and maybe your heart, music you may go home humming and hearing some days thereafter. Pagan Hellcats draw influence from artists like The Byrds, The Replacements and Neil Young. We’re always a work in progress and our hope for each show is to be our best one yet..

Sunday @ 8:30 PM – *Christmas Parade Celebration with Rhonda Robichaux* Immediately following the Christmas Parade we’ll be hosting a Christmas Celebration at the Tap with the Rhonda Robichaux Band! We’ll be donating 10% of revenues from 4:30 until close to the Chatham Literacy Council. Can you imagine trying to get by today without knowing how to read? This is a wonderful cause that helps to greatly improve the quality of life for people truly in need.
Did I mention Rhonda Robichaux was playing??? Rhonda taps into her SwampySultrySpicy New Orleans roots with a mix of blues, swing, samba, jazz, funk/rock/soul classics and originals. Robichaux’s distinct vocals and innovative guitar, intriguing vamp on classics/standards, and soul-baring originals conjure up an atmosphere of smoky cool…. funkified jazz/blues/rock stylings enhance and drive the music experience ~ from slow and gritty to uptempo dance grooves. As a soloist as well as with her band ~ her music captivates with haunting intimacy ~ commanding, engaging ~ unmistakable and undeniable rawness.

Cheers!
