I reckon the Native Americans (and, yes, we do have some living in Chatham County) have been saying the same thing since Columbus landed.
So, Diane, are you ready to move back to Ukraine, where you say your forebears came from?
In all seriousness, ultimately all of us “came from†someplace else. One of the deep beauties of the United States is that each of us can choose to move to, and live in, basically any place in the country we want to. Further, we carry our individual right to freedom of expression with us wherever we go. Folks from New Jersey (your home state) are free to move to North Carolina, to Chatham County – be thankful for that – and to express their opinions when they get here. Be REALLY thankful for that!
