Subject: Re Chatham Park Criticism

Bravo to Statler Gilfillen for your well thought-out and cool-minded assessment of the situation regarding Chatham Park.  What lends credence to your words is partly from your own background and partly from pointing out both good points and points of considerable lacking from both sides of the issue..  You did no name-calling.  I don’t agree with all that you said, but you gave both sides pause and strokes.  Thank you!

Boos to Bella Donna and Anne for your nasty name-calling.  That is indicative of the Radical Rightwing attacking the person rather than the issue.  There was no establishment of a cool, well thought-out analysis of the situation.  Our US Constitution gives all of us the right to express our opinions..  In so doing, it is a given that there will be disagreements.  If you two can’t find the good in someone else’s opposition, take a while to cool off..  Then try to find the good in what you so emotionally react to.  That way you won’t embarrass yourselves.  Right now you come across as a one-finger pointing to the opposition with the other 4-fingers pointing accusingly back at yourselves.

We need people in this country who stand up for business because we need businesses and work.
We also need people in this country who stand up for people and the environment, because we need both for the very life of the planet.  A metaphor of this:  Eachside can not survive without the other, any more than a person can stand on only one leg for ever.  Just as we humans need BOTH legs to move forward with ease, we need both sides of the political spectrum and view in order to move forward intelligently for the GOOD OF ALL concerned.
