Range 2A is a private, members only outdoor range located just outside of Pittsboro, NC. It was designed and built to fill the need for safe, responsible, law abiding firearm owners to have an enjoyable place to practice. We are accommodating to all shooting skill levels, from beginner to expert. Each of our 8 bays (Phase 1 of development) are comprised of berms on three sides, cut into a hill and surrounded by trees and brush for optimum lead containment, sound abatement, and safety.
Range 2A was developed as a facility where responsible, safe, legal firearm owners can come to practice. Most ranges set strict guidelines on range rules which can limit a persons ability to advance their skill and comfort level. A few examples of these restrictions are rapid fire (or shooting more than 1 round per second), magazine changes, or drawing from your holster. Since our members are grown adults who the State of North Carolina even agrees are responsible enough to own a firearm, we don’t feel it’s our place to tell you what your shooting skill level is.
*Is the range finished?*
Absolutely not! What you see here is Phase I of a three Phase project. We have a total of 71 acres to utilize for the facility and have used approximately 15. Our total build-out plans include 20 separate bays ranging from 50×100 to 100×200 in size, two shotgun skeet stations, two archery stations with elevated platforms for real-life practice, two long ranges (300 yards and a military/LE 700 M range) as well as a 360 range for LE and military training only. Eventually we desire to have a building with a common area and bunkrooms. We also have plans for a gun cleaning station where members and guests can clean their firearms here at the facility rather than take it home and do it in the kitchen where there is a slight chance for complaining about the smell.
