Subject: Fearrington Choruses Spring Concert
“You and I and the Music†will be presented by the 75 men and women of the Fearrington Village community choruses — the Village Voices, Harmony Grits, and Fearringtones – all conducted by well-known Chatham County choral director, Matt Fry.
The concert is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, at 7:30 pm, in The Barn in Fearrington Village (2000 Village Center, Pittsboro, NC 27312). General admission is $8 at the door.
The program features popular classics with either “you†or “I†or both in the title. Many of the selections are favorites that originated as independent songs and later became parts of movie scores (“You Made Me Love You,†“I Wish You Love†). Others were written for movies or musicals, then gained fame on their own (“Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans?,†“All the Things You Are†). One, Irving Berlin’s ageless “What’ll I Do,†was added in 1923 to other songs already being performed on Broadway in the ongoing “Music Box Revue.†Whatever their origin, all tunes are guaranteed to make singers and audiences alike “feel so young.â€
Plan to arrive early, as seats for these concerts fill fast.
