Subject: Review: Pittsboro Farmer’s Market Thursdays – New Location
The Thursday Pittsboro Farmer’s Market has moved to a new, more convenient location. Right on highway 64 (East Street) East of the Courthouse Circle. Now located in “The Station” complex, beside Kerr Drugs. Hours are 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Every Thursday, from now through mid November.
Last week, was the first market and there was plenty there: At least three vendors had luscious red tomatoes. A good selection of Goat cheese. One vendor had handmade soaps in a wide variety of ‘aromas’- Tomato plants and herb plants. Native Trillium, fragrant Daphne and Kerria Japonica shrubs. Choice meats and eggs. One vendor had fresh cut flowers cleverly displayed on a picket fence. One unique thing was someone selling a four gallon tub lettuce- At least three kinds in one tub Red, oak-leaf, romaine and I can’t recall which the other was. . I bought one container and that stuff is so good- and guess what? It grows back if carefully cut and manged.
It all happens all over again this Thursday at 3:30 pm- to 6;30 pm-
